BreakGuard Passive Shutoff System for Bulk Transports
How It Works
The BreakGuard System includes a receiver that is boxed and pre-wired for easy installation, a sensor control that uses furnished Velcro strips to attach it to the delivery hose, and a small transmitter for manual operation that can be attached to a qualified person's belt loop.
The sensor monitors the flow of propane or ammonia through the hose and discriminates between the vibration during regular pumping operations and the catastrophic failure action that is caused by the complete separation of the hose. If the hose completely separates, the impact causes the sensor to send a radio signal to the receiver system that causes the bottom outlet internal valve to close.
Although it is not required by DOT regulations, a second 3200-FGL receiver can be added and installed on the tractor and wired so that the radio signal from the sensor will also shut down the tractor engine.
Simple Installation
Find a suitable location to mount the unit.
Connect two electrical wires as the intruction sheet indicates.
Connect three air lines and the installation is complete.
Follow operating instructions. After the hose is connected and before starting the transfer, simply fasten the BreakGuard sensor with Velcro to the transfer hose and firmly press the BreakGuard "ON" button. The sensor is now activated and the product transfer can begin. After the transfer is completed, be sure to press the "ON" button again to deactivate the battery operated sensor.
